A 16-year-old’s driving lesson got quite expensive Sunday when the young driver accidentally barreled into the side of an apartment complex.
The accident happened at 17970 SW Blanton Street in Aloha.
Investigators said the 16-year-old Aloha teen was practicing parking with her dad in the passenger seat when she pushed the gas too hard.
“It appears she accelerated and rapidly drove from the parking lot, through a fence, and into the side of the building," a spokesperson for the Washington County Sheriff's Office said. "It is not known why she accelerated instead of braked."
No one was inside the apartment when the crash occurred, around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Police said the teen and her father were not injured.
The building sustained significant damage and the Honda Pilot was damaged as well.
